News of Note:

  • Kyrie Irving (Cavaliers) will be out for a month with a broken left index finger.
  • Stephen Jackson (Spurs) will be out for 4-6 weeks with a broken right pinky finger.
  • The Washington Wizards are 0-9, meaning they are the only team in the NBA who has yet to get a win.
  • Brandon Roy (Timberwolves) will be receiving knee surgery. This is sad news, as he has only just returned from retirement due to his knee. Best wishes to him.
  • Tyrus Thomas (Bobcats) will be out 2 months with a torn leg muscle.

News of Note:

  • Due to his knee surgery, Mike D’Antoni did not take the sidelines for the Lakers tonight, as previously anticipated. He is on crutches and still recovering. You can expect to see D’Antoni begin his head coaching job on Sunday as the Lakers take on Houston.
  • Andrew Bynum is dealing with a “setback” on his other knee, causing a delay in his return to the 76’ers. He was supposed to be cleared to begin activity on December 10th, but now that date is up in the air.
  • Steve Nash is expected to miss at least 5 more games.

News of Note:

  • In case you’ve missed it, the Los Angeles Lakers have hired Mike D’Antoni as their new head coach. This came as a surprise to many, (including Phil Jackson apparently) who thought that the Zen Master would be returning to L.A.
  • Andrew Bynum’s return date has been pushed back to January by the 76’ers. He is currently out with a bone bruise on his right knee.
  • Dirk Nowitzki has said that his recovery is moving slower than he had thought it would. He is being patient and not pushing the recovery any faster than it needs to go.
  • Demarcus Cousins has been suspended 2 games by the league for approaching a San Antonio broadcaster after a game, upon hearing that he made remarks against him during the broadcast.
  • Steve Blake will miss tomorrows Lakers vs. Spurs game due to an abdominal strain suffered during L.A.’s victory against Sacramento. The team is already without Steve Nash. Darius Morris and Chris Duhon will take over PG duty until they are both fully recovered.

News of Note:

  • It has been determined that Steve Nash suffered a fracture in his left leg, and will be out for at least another week.
  • James Harden fell slightly out of step tonight, but still had 24 points, so, I wouldn’t be too concerned if I was a Rockets fan.
  • Brandon Rush is out for the season with a torn ACL. Dreadfully sad news for him and Golden State.

Player of the Night: James Harden is a MAN.
37 points, 12 assists, 6 rebounds.
Have fun this year, Houston.

News of Note: Steve Nash left the game due to a knee collision with Damian Lillard. The injury was reported not serious, and Nash returned from the locker room to play. However, he appeared to struggle and was removed from the game. The injury itself is not yet known.

Hello lovely followers.

I’ve been noticing (later rather than sooner, unfortunately) that some random, non-NBA related posts have been popping up here on NBA Girl. This is a result of me simply not double checking which blog I’m posting to, and posting things meant for my personal blog (which you are more than welcome to follow, as well) on here instead.

My apologies for this.

Don’t forget, the 2012-2013 NBA Season (played in full :D) will officially begin on Tuesday, October 30th in Cleveland, with a game between the Cavaliers and the Wizards.

Miami vs. Boston will kick off the TNT NBA Double Header for the evening, followed by the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Dallas.

The Phoenix Suns kick off their season on Halloween, at home, against the Golden State Warriors, which is, of course, the most important game of the NBA Tip Off. ;)

Have an excellent weekend, followers.
Be prepared for much more NBA Girl material as the season dawns upon us.

nbaoffseason:

Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag to Dirk Nowitzki, who is turning 34 today. Dirk is still a reigning NBA champion for a few more days, and should have almost finished that $80,000 bottle of champagne by now. He’s definitely out partying somewhere today, and we can only hope he’s still wearing that hat.

It just keeps getting worse…

Ugh.
